MODEL 40 - RECLINED SEAT- The Model 40 is a rare
application and fits extremely reclined seats such as Vintage
FF. Many people who buy a Model 40 return it for a Model 30.
Please measure your seat (use an angle meter available at DIY-type
stores) before ordering.
2. NECKSIZE
The width of the HANS® collar is sized to fit your neck or
shirt collar size.
Under 12 Inches - Size Extra Small (XS) (For people under 100
lbs.)
12 to 15 Inches - Size Small (S)
15 to 17.5 Inches - Size Medium (M) (Called size REGULAR or
Economy on
older models)
18 - 19.5 Inches - Size Large (L)
Over 20 Inches - Size X-Large (XL)
So a person with a 16" neck driving a Corvette would use
a HANS® 20M. It's as easy as that!
3. HELMET ANCHOR INSTALLATION
The HANS® attaches to your helmet via two metal anchors.
90% of our customers install their own anchors - all you need
is a 1/4 inch drill and measuring tape. Devices come with
instructions plus a special installation tool. If you prefer,
Apex Performance will install the anchors on your helmet at no
additional charge - helmets need shipped to us for
installation. Please let us know you prefer this option when
ordering.
4. PROFESSIONAL, EXTRA and SPORT VERSIONS
Some models are available in lightweight (Professional
Series) and
regular (Extra Series) versions. The only difference is
weight - about 6 - 8 ounces depending on size and the
Professional Series has the HANS Professional Series branded
logo on the back of the device. There is no
performance difference between the versions. HANS
introduced the new SPORT series device early in 2008 at a
value price with the same performance. The SPORT series
weighs approximately one lb. more than the EXTRA series
version.
